Waterborne GI Illness

Waterborne diseases are caused by pathogenic microbes that can be directly spread through contaminated recreational or drinking water. Most waterborne diseases cause diarrheal disease.

Commonly recognized waterborne infections are:

      Cholera

      Cryptosporidium

     Cyclosporiasis 

      E.coli

      Giardia

      Hepatitis A

      Norovirus

      Salmonella

      Shigella

      Typhoid Fever
