Waterborne GI Illnesses

Waterborne illnesses are caused by pathogenic microbes that can be directly spread through contaminated recreational or drinking water. The most common sign of a waterborne illness is diarrhea.

These are some commonly recognized waterborne illnesses:

      Campylobacteriosis

      Cholera

      Cryptosporidiosis

      Cyclosporiasis 

      E. coli

      Giardiasis

      Hepatitis A

      Leptospirosis

      Norovirus

      Salmonellosis

      Shigellosis

      Typhoid Fever
