Case Reporting Requirements
Health care providers and laboratories are required by law to report all West Nile virus cases to the North Dakota Department of Health.
Who Can Report?
Individual health care providers who make a diagnosis of WNV or laboratory personnel who identify a WNV positive sample.
Examples include, but are not limited to, physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurses, medical examiners, medical technologists, laboratory technicians and infection control personnel.

How Can You Report?
You can complete and mail the morbidity report card, complete the online morbidity report card at http://www.ndhealth.gov/Disease/Disease%20Reporting/DiseaseCard.aspx or you can call the N. D. Department of Health at 701.328.2378 or 800.472.2180.
After a WNV case has been reported, the health department may follow-up with the health care provider to obtain information about treatment, clinical status, long-term sequelae, etc.
