In order to provide public health leadership to improve cardiovascular health, the Heart Disease & Stroke Prevention Program established several advisory groups to provide guidance and direction as the comprehensive heart disease and stroke prevention plan is implemented.
These partners work cooperatively* and collaboratively* with the program to reduce the death and disability associated with heart disease and stroke and its associated risk factors and medical conditions.
* Cooperating: Exchanging information, altering activities and sharing resources (e.g., staff, financial and resources, technical) for mutual benefit and to achieve a common purpose.
* Collaborative: Exchanging information, altering activities, sharing resources (e.g., staff, financial and resources, technical) and enhancing capacity of another for mutual benefit and to achieve a common purpose.
